My students need to gain a mastery of 3-dimensional objects; volume, surface area, edges, faces, vertices; all parts of a 3-dimensional object. They need to understand how a 3-d object is made from 2-d objects, and they need to understand the difference.
By actually creating the shapes, and the nets for the shapes, they will be able to see how each 2-d shape is connected, forming 3-d shapes.
The use of the technology will heighten the rigor and effectiveness of the lesson, keeping students engaged, and giving them more opportunities for 21st century learning opportunities.
