The students at LV Academy are always looking for different outlets and ways to show off their skills. From after-school reading and art clubs, to homework help and sports clubs, our students love having different opportunities to stay after school and showcase their talents. It is not uncommon to see classrooms full of students before and after school who voluntarily come in to better themselves, both academically and in other areas.
By introducing the students to sewing, they will be able to be engaged in a skill that seems to be falling by the wayside. Our students love to be engaged and are always looking for ways to be creative. By introducing them to sewing, I hope to open a whole new world of opportunities from tailoring and garment construction to upholstery and hand-stitching.
I know that sewing will be a huge hit at LVA if we just had a few of the materials to get started. By introducing the students to hand-sewing techniques using a good ol' needle and thread and also learning the intricacies of our new sewing machines, they will be able to see the exciting projects that await them and all of the wonderful creations that they can construct! With the additional items such as rotary cutters, scissors, tape measures, pins and bobbins, we will be able to sew anything we can dream up!
