My students go to school in a rural county in Virginia. Therefore, we don't have the financial resources that we would like in order to see our students soar to unreachable levels. Unless we teachers dig in our pockets like I have to do on an almost daily basis to motivate and encourage my students. When given the right tools, all students are capable of achieving much more than they can imagine, which is what many have done this school year with the help of a CD player and headphones. It has kept many of them focused enough to tackle the longer chapter books that they would normally skip on the book shelf. Wow, courage!
