Our school is a Title 1 school where children are often in need of school supplies to assist in their learning. I teach my students that it's okay to make mistakes, but also to help the environment. So when one asked, "I always throw away paper after paper figuring out my math problems, can't I just use my dry-erase board so I can make as many mistakes as I need and save trees too?" I thought, why didn't I think of that? Now, everyday at math time, my third graders thrive on the opportunity to use boards and dry-erase markers to achieve math success!
