My students will either use a stand-up desk or a stability ball instead of a regular hard desk chair. By sitting on a ball students will have to sit upright which promotes attentive listening. By standing-up students will have the opportunity to get their wiggles out and focus on the lesson. Students will have the opportunity to sit or stand for half a day or all day. I have had students in the past who stood the whole day at a regular desk. They were bent over and looked uncomfortable. I want to give my students every possible tool to help them overcome the challenges they bring to school.
