My students attend a Title I school and are mostly English Language Learners. They have so many challenges with living in a lower social-economic community that is right in the middle of our city's East Side Gang. Many of our students have difficulty with focusing due to factors that include parents with drug abuse issues, limited parent support at home, and parents who are illiterate or not able to speak English.
