My students are 4th graders and are native Spanish and native English speakers who are in a Dual Language Immersion program, in which the goal for learning is bi-literacy. Students in my classroom love to read and learn in both Spanish and English! Students in my classroom and at my school bring a variety of culture, language, and background experiences to class. As a teacher, I look for authentic literature that will help students make connections with reading and their own life.
