Bissett serves approximately 300 students in K-5 where more than 80% of our students are free and reduced lunch. Each classroom has between 24-28 students. We do our best to address the individual needs of each student who comes to our school (paper, pencils, scissors, folders, etc...)
We have wonderful community partners that donate supplies but it only goes so far. Our parents are hard working and want to help their children but often aren't able due to their own limited resources. Communication is critical between teachers, students, and parents so we hold several parent meetings throughout the year to give parents the opportunity to participate in classroom events. We do our best to make our students and parents feel safe in their learning environment so that they feel welcome and we are constantly looking for new ways to engage our students with current information, classroom environment, and technology.
