The New York Times rated our district the most diverse in the country, and our high school is the only high school in this district. Students are from Iraq, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Mexico, Somalia, Russia, Burma, Eritrea, Vietnam, Thailand, and more. Many students are ethnic minorities who have lived in refugee camps for most of their lives. For most, they will be the first to attend and graduate from a high school in the US, and hopefully attend college. They are figuring out who they are in the tapestry of America. My students are focused, dedicated, and hardworking. They bring their motivation for education every day. It's a pleasure to teach this group and take them as far as they can go.Their rich life experiences are a source of inspiration.
