Kindergarten is a HUGE year for all students, as they learn the alphabet and turn that knowledge into the ability to learn how to read. How exiting! Although I do not know my students yet as it is summer, they will need many hands-on opportunities to apply their knowledge of learning letters and transferring that knowledge into word building and reading. While pre-kindergarten is offered to our students, many do not attend and come in at varying levels of attained learning. Although I have taught first grade for several years, this will be my FIRST time teaching Kindergarten so I am in need of various grade specific literacy center materials to give my students the opportunity to "Sail to Success" in learning how to read.
