Many of my first graders are learning English as a second language. By donating to our project, you are not only helping my classroom library grow with more books they can read, but also helping them get excited about rhyming words. Rhyming words are very challenging for ELL students. Our students who are not familiar with nursery rhymes and classic children's songs, are not familiar with the concept of rhyming words and often get frustrated. Dr. Seuss books are full of silly, fun, repetitive, and catchy rhyming words that make them laugh and easily allow them to play with words.
