My students are cheerful, curious and full of excitement about learning to play their instruments. They range from 4th to 8th grade. They live in an urban environment and some have a difficult time affording the instruments they want to play. My percussion students, for whom this project is intended, learn a vast array of instruments: snare drum, tambourine, cymbals, congas, claves, and drum set, just to name a few! Most of these are school-owned instruments, and the students take excellent care of them and treat them with respect.
