I teach at a low-income school in Tennessee. Many of our students live at or below the poverty level. About 1/3 of our families have immigrated from other countries and their children are the only people in their households that speak and understand English. My students love school and many of them have a passion for learning to read. My school is a wonderful, safe, encouraging place to learn.
