I teach and learn from a community of 103 English Language learners. Members of our classroom community speak 32 different languages and have roots in 58 different countries. The majority of my students are first-generation immigrants from Central America and the Middle East. Families are active members of our classroom community, who are actively engaged in student learning and share their wide variety of knowledge and expertise and regularly attend school and classroom events.
I work at a Title I school, and over 90% of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
