My students come from low-income homes where technology is not always a priority on the list of things purchase even though they are growing up in a world that requires the knowledge of usage and application in order to move up and succeed. Many do not speak English as their primary language yet are put into a classroom where English is the only language that is spoken. My students lack support at home and sometimes only have the ability to concentrate on school at school. They also thirst for knowledge and want to better them and their world. Our school was built for technology to be integrated into the classroom on a daily basis but my students don't always have the access. We are a "bring your own device" campus yet many of my students do not own a device to use in class. We have laptop carts and labs that we can reserve but if they are already reserved for the day, I do not have the ability to give students technology if they do not already have it.
