My students have chosen to enter an academically-challenging academy called the International Baccalaureate in which they may earn college credit. This academy of about 200 students exists within a larger high-poverty high school of 1900 students. These students have dedicated themselves to academic excellence and face many challenges. Our program receives very little funding and students often struggle to meet the financial requirements of the program. They are a group of hard-working kids who value the importance of education and understand that education is the key to achieving their goals.
