Imagine this: 32 Kindergarteners, 15 different languages, and 1 teacher. This is reality for me and my students. Overall, our school is home to 580 students, with 90% poverty and 85% English Language Learners. Their need for resources to learn to read is tremendous; most families do not have a single book at home. My students have never been in school before, and some have never touched a book.
