Seventy-six percent of our school population is eligible for free or reduced lunch; just under 50-percent of our students graduate. The school faces its challenges, but our students are bright, personable and imaginative, and they deserve teachers that will challenge them--creatively and intellectually. In my classroom, finding meaning in mystery and learning to question and listen are fundamental objectives: every text we read, every dialogue we have, is aimed at supporting these goals.
