My first grade group of students are very diverse. My students come from a low socioeconomic status. Our school is a Title 1 school with over 80% of students receiving free lunch. It is a mix of African-American, African, Latino, Pacific, and Southeast Asian students. While my students may not have the same financial support of others, the tolerance and cultural awareness they are experiencing is priceless.
