I currently teach Introduction to Technology and Concepts of Engineering at a T4 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy to students in grades 6 and 8. Each of these students have different levels and styles of learning. This class is a project based class and can prepare the students to begin thinking about one of the major areas where employment opportunities are high along the Gulf Coast of Texas. The public school system has become an outlet for children to grow quicker and gain more knowledge. Many of my students have free or reduced meals in the school system which means they are living below the poverty level and want to be able to compete globally in the world today.
