I teach all the 4th and 5th graders Science in our rural community that is also on a Native American Reservation. The majority of these kids have very limited opportunities, but like all children, deserve the best we are able to give them. When our school lost our timber dollars from the federal government we had to depend on our patrons to pass school levies each year. The students don't get many extras. Science is a favorite subject for them because my program is totally inquiry based. It is hands-on and exciting. Experiments are constantly happening. Our students are very curious, love making predictions, and then trying them out.
