We are a large group of first grade students in Western New York. Throughout our school year we experience all four seasons, and we love to expand our learning to the world outside and around us. We play in the leaves in the fall, build snowmen in the winter, plant gardens in the spring, and have picnics in the summer! We are part of a small city school district that is facing a significant shortage in funding and resources for our students. We are in the process of really getting to know each other this year, as our district just went through a huge re-districting process to help consolidate our schools and to help the community better serve our children. Our school contains hundreds of students in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade, and we come from a wide variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds. Despite the hardships that our district is facing, we all come to school with a love of learning and a positive outlook for the school year ahead!
