The students in my class live in a low socioeconomic environment. The community is full of very hard working people, who often have to make difficult choices regarding how family money is spent. The students are highly motivated and excited about learning. They are energetic and excited about the future.
As a teacher, I do my best to provide supplies to those who come with nothing, but sometimes equipment is just too much for me to cover. Our school is full of students full of potential. They just need to have the resources that those in more affluent neighborhoods take for granted. Calculators are a basic supply that we are lacking.
