I work in an inner city school where we are more than 3/4% free and reduced lunch. These students love making art and seeing it around our school. I am the first art teacher in a very long time and when I first got here they would say that the building was boring and ugly. I try to hang up every art piece that is made throughout the school year and their eyes just sparkle when they come in the building now. They are curious to see who made the pieces and what they are about. They are always asking when they will get to make that project. The school climate has soared and I am hoping it is because they are taking pride in their building because of the beauty that they have unknowingly added.
