My students attend a charter school in an impoverished section of Philadelphia. Over 95% receive free or reduced-lunch and over 99% are African-American. My students are offered classrooms based on single gender and mixed gender. My students are optimistic, energetic, creative and filled every possibility to succeed. They are constantly searching for a way to prove themselves and become leaders to contribute to their community, the nation and their world.
