I work at a school that is 80% African American and 20% Caucasian or other. Most of these students are on free or reduced lunch. Most of these students may not have enough food at home for the weekend, so we supply them with snacks for the weekend. We are a small charter school in South Carolina. They are great kids and are doing the best they can with what they are given in life. They are staying positive and trying to learn when they are here.
