My students live in the rolling hills of Southeastern Kentucky in an area that has been nearly decimated by the loss of the Coal Industry. We are a high poverty area with approximately 94% of our student population qualifying for free/reduced lunch. With the area being in such an economically depressed area the population is struggling and our school consequently suffers from an overall lack of parental involvement. I strive to fill my students with the pride of success and a job well done. They need every bit of encouragement they can get and I urge you to help me, help them.
