Flexible seating will allow my students to make choices to support their educational goals. We utilize learning centers and flexible seating will make those centers easier to execute. These kids are doing hard work in order to make up missed learning time and flexible seating options will help keep them comfortable and motivated.
Research has shown that giving students choices increases engagement. Engaged students get more work done and are prouder of their results.
The products that I have chosen will allow my students to channel their energy by wiggling or balancing. These items allow for sensory output that helps eliminate behavior issues and increase attention to task.
The wobble stools and chair cushions allow for higher energy students to meet their regulation needs and the bean bags allow students to rest if needed. These seating options work well with clip boards and centers we are currently utilizing. These options will help support students who are working so hard through a difficult situation. I am certain that this will lead to an improved classroom!
