My students are from very low socioeconomic homes. They face daily challenges beyond the lessons I pose to them in the classroom. My students come to school with an excitement about learning to read. They want to become better readers but many of them do not have any reading material at home. They practice reading books we make in class over and over beyond memorization. My school is working to help our students understand that "the sky is the limit!" In order to help my students learn to love reading they have to be able to practice it at school and at home.
