My students are either four or five years old when they come to school. They are nervous and shy and still new to the school scene. Many children have never been to school or away from their parents at all. We have full day kindergarten that I try to make fun and engaging every day for the students. We use all modes of learning including visual, tactile, and kinesthetic.
Our school is a public elementary school in an area that is struggling economically. Many of our students are in homes with only one working parent or two parents who are both out of a job. Pictures are essential to many of the projects that we complete in kindergarten but many families can't bare to part with the photos they have of their children. With this equipment, I could take and print my own photos to use in school. Once completed, the projects could be sent home to serve as keepsakes for the families.
