My students are extremely enthusiastic about being a part of our newspaper. They applied for positions, asked for press passes (!) and have been wonderful about covering all school events. We are a Louisiana charter school with many students falling below the poverty line. They crave responsibility, and I have been careful in giving them just a little more than they believe they can handle.
