We will use this class set of "Crow" by Barbara Wright to learn about life for African Americans after the civil war in rural North Carolina.
"Crow" is a trade book that follows an African American family after the conclusion of the American Civil War. It is important to help students understand the accurate history of the American experience- and this book details turn of the century life for an family of former slaves through the eyes of their son.
Our students will be able to read and reflect on this most powerful, relavent story that reflects the facts of American history.
