I teach first grade at a Title 1 school in Tigard, Oregon. My students are energetic 6 and 7 year olds who are excited to be at school. Each day they come in eager to learn about anything and everything. They love to read, write, learn about math, and explore new technology resources. As technology demands increase, being able to successfully use these resources is a big part of our evolving world. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have the resources they need to be successful at home. Having access to these resources at school is a crucial part of their education. While there are some resources available, there are not enough for my students to be as successful as they can be. If I were to provide more technology resources to my students, there is not doubt that all of my students would be able to reach new highs in first grade.
