Like all children, my students are active learners with unlimited potential! They learn best through integrated units individualized to learning style & ability. Hands on experiences compensate for previous lack of essential experiences by nurturing new skills through interaction, exploration, choices, movement and touch. Many of them grapple with the consequences of troubling formative experiences and limited resources. Most of our families are single parent homes that qualify for free or reduced lunch in one of the most troubled neighborhoods of our Louisiana city. We need these essentials to provide a stimulating learning environment that will help us build a community of experienced learners and competent young adult citizens.
