My students are exceptional and have the potential to embrace success. One major problem that resides in most of my students is they don鈥檛 believe they can be great.
I teach approximately 100 eighth graders in a low income Title 1 Middle School. Most of my students learn best by investigating and drawing conclusions independently, while a portion of my students need direct assistance. With this range of learning styles, constant and consistent feedback is key whenever my students submit work. Providing commentary shows them I acknowledge them and their efforts. Unfortunately, many of my students only receive positive feedback from school. I have low parental involvement when it comes to my students and their success. This is the reason I find it necessary to 鈥渟how off鈥 my students with all of their efforts. It is very easy for them to feel as if they are not worthy but I want to change that state of mind.
