I have 30 students in my inclusion fourth grade classroom. There are eighteen boys and twelve girls. Nine of these students are special education students with varying learning disabilities. The other twenty-one students are reading below a fourth grade level. We are in a public school in Philadelphia, PA. It is a kindergarten through eighth grade school with almost 1200 students. The student population is made up of predominately African American and Hispanic children, who are living in poverty. Despite being categorized as at-risk youth, my students are so much fun and have an intrinsic drive for learning!
