My school is located in a rural area. This area's main support of income comes from crops and factory workers. We have a 98% free and reduced lunch count. Most of our students come from a single parent home and poverty stricken environment. I teach 26 first grade students. In this population, I have repeaters, students with IEP's, and an autistic student. The grouping of my class calls for a lot of variety and creativity. I want the very best for my children. My expectations for them are high and their expectations for me are the same.
