My school is full of students with incredible ambition and a desire to read and learn. The majority come from low-income families which often provide hurdles for these students that are beyond their control. School is often their only chance to be exposed to a variety of activities. Although these students might be considered "disadvantaged," they have wonderful attitudes and lots of spirit. It's exciting to see how the small things mean so much to them.
