Support Mrs. Hill-Johnson's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
My project is to provide students with more options for hands-on materials in Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics. The items will be used in the classroom's small group centers in which the students can utilize for additional help.
The use of these materials will benefit the students in the classroom. They will be placed in the small group center in which the students can utilize for remediation. I selected the Power Pen Reading Set to aid in helping my students improve their reading comprehension skill; the Power Pen Math Set (Addition, Subtraction, Time, and Money) will provide the students with extra practice with their computing skills; the Power Pens to be used with the Reading and Math sets; the Magnetic Base 10 Set will be beneficial in teaching Place Value; Double Sided Magnetic Letters and Numbers Tiles will be used to help students with their letter/number recognition and how to write the numbers/letters correctly. I will use the Sight Words Magnetic set to help the students with their reading comprehension and fluency. The Star Student Wristbands will be given to the students as incentives for mastering skills/goals.
If funded, these materials will greatly benefit my students academically. The students were in Kindergarten when the pandemic began and have missed a lot of in-school instruction because of it; therefore, about 50% of them are not on grade level. My overall goal is to have those students working on grade level before entering 3rd grade.
