First off, my students for the most part are not as fortunate as many of the student in the area in which they live. Many fall under the category troubled. Virtually every student I have in my classes falls under one or more "at risk" indicators. many of them multiple.
Many of them just need some consistency in their lives and, many of them count on the teachers at our school for just that. I believe that many of my students have just been deprived of opportunities that many children take for granted. I just love watching a child light up when they discover something new!
Soccer is a world wide and to provide students with the opportunity to experience the sport that so many of them adore from the best vantage point, the FIELD! Many of these girls would never otherwise have this opportunity if they had never come to America.
