I teach structured English immersion kindergarten in a low-income area of Arizona. My school is Title I. My students often need repeated demonstrations and explanations of activities. We are a K-5 school of about 800 students. I currently have 22 students in an all-day kindergarten. My state is implementing the Common Core Standards which are very rigorous. My students must be able to read age appropriate text independently by the end of this school year.
