Each year I have between 20 and 25 students in my inclusion class. I also team teach literacy with four other fourth grade teachers, therefore sharing supplies that benenfit up to 125 children. We are a public school in Massachusetts that is considered to be "in needs of improvement" on state mandated testing. 28% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds including English as a Second Language Learners and some have just arrived in our country from locations in South America. We have been working on a new reading initiative to improve our achievement and to create lifelong readers. My students are very excited about this new initiative.
