My school is a Title 1 school, where 97% of the students are from other ethnicity's than Caucasian. We have 17 different languages that are represented. Many of my students face extreme hardships at home, ranging from; parents in jail, parents deported, single parents who work long hours, but the students show up to school with a smile on their face, and they are eager to learn. Because of these challenges, we run our classroom as a community. We teach all the students to be accepting of everyone, no matter the differences in their backgrounds. It is a major focus of our school to teach about equality and being accepting of everyone.
