These new novels will help to make World War II come to life. Historical events are not just learned through dates and facts. Instead, they are animated through the experiences of people who lived them. Although fictional, the characters in the novel are relatable for my students.
Through the eyes of two 10-year-olds, the students will ride a roller coaster of emotions as they soar to peaks of suspense and drop into moments of time from years past. Literacy skills will also be enriched through meaningful reading and writing assignments that help the students to dive deeper into the story and the real life events that surround its plot.
