Light tables hold many benefits inside the classroom. They are an excellent resource to use when it comes to science and discovery; however, light tables can also be used for math, literacy, music, and even writing! Light tables are an excellent source of visual stimulation for children. The calming effects of the light naturally draw children in, making them curious about their learning and discovery. Aside from the educational benefits of the light table, it also provides healthy opportunity for play and curiosity. Light table accessories can be used on the surface of the table to help illuminate the objects and draw students in while providing a calming effect. Accessories can range from simple 2D and 3D shapes, to letters, numbers, words, and even human and animal x-rays. Simple objects from nature, such as leaves and pebbles can be used as well. The possibilities are endless, really! The light table inside our classroom will provide endless learning opportunities for our TK scholars. We can't wait to get started!
