I work with vibrant, motivated, sociable, and intriguing 5th grade students! Our school is diverse and I believe that is essential to learning because the students get to experience first hand the customs and traditions of other cultures and learn to respect and appreciate the differences amongst one another. My school is a Title 1 public school in an urban neighborhood that houses students from Pre-k through 5th grade. 90% of our students live below or at the poverty level. However, the socioeconomic status of the students does not affect the drive of the teachers to reach every student. Our children deserve a competitive education and it is our job, as educators, to provide that education so that our students will be career and college-ready.
