The students in this middle school music class are incredibly hard-working, dedicated, and kind. We are in an urban district and for most of the students, this is the first time they've ever had the opportunity to learn to play an instrument. At the Garfield Middle School, all students take three years of general music, which includes learning various instruments, singing, composing, music technology, and music history. We also offer intro to guitar, chorus and rock ensemble as electives, and although many begin their time at GMS with little experience on instruments, they have shown that any student can succeed given the opportunity!

About my class
