My first grade students attend a public elementary Title 1 school in Southern California. They are in a dual-immersion program where 1/2 the day they are learning to read, write and speak Mandarin. I teach 44 students in my dual immersion Mandarin classroom, where English speakers are immersed in the Mandarin language while learning their California standards based curriculum.
