My students are 10th graders who live in a lower socio-economic community in a Southern California inner city suburb. They attend a traditional public high school where funding is becoming more limited each year. Despite the various challenges that my students face both at home and in school, they have shown true resiliency and a desire to make their lives better. They have very positive qualities such as compassion for others, personal integrity, and an open mind about the people and world they live in. I truly believe that as they mature they will eventually find their way in this hectic world and become productive, successful adults.
