I work with preschool to fifth grade special needs students. Many of them struggle with sensory processing or have other disabilities that require sensory materials. These students struggle to get work done as they have a hard time paying attention and focusing. They are great students who need extra help to make their school day fulfilling. I teach in a rural low income school in Iowa where we have a high number of special education students. The families have very little resources to help their students and the school is trying hard to get these resources for them. Being able to give each student the materials that are needed to help meet their individual sensory needs would help not only the children, but their families as well.
